Assistant Centre Manager
(Events & Marketing)

The award-winning Pennoyer Centre is a business, heritage, education and community venue in Pulham St Mary, South Norfolk.  Based in a restored 15th Century Guild Chapel and Victorian School, the Centre is open to the public six days a week. In addition, we run a café and the Centre is available as for weddings, private parties, birthdays and celebrations.

The successful candidate will hold a key role in the organisation, and be responsible for carrying out marketing activities for the centre, and handling enquiries for business and private functions and weddings. The post holder will also be required to assist the Centre Manager with the smooth running of the Centre, including the Café

As well as having a flair for client and customer relations, you will be encouraged to make proposals for increasing the revenue of the Pennoyer Centre by careful and effective marketing.

The successful candidate will: -

  • Have a minimum of 3 year’s experience, working in a customer-facing environment, providing a first class client experience.

  •      Be an excellent communicator and have the ability to quickly establish a rapport with visitors, volunteers, clients and suppliers.

  •        Ability to proactively prioritise client needs from initial inquiries

  • ·     Be confident with the operation of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other application software. Experience of Mailchimp is desirable, but training will be provided.

  •       Have excellent organisation and problem-solving skills

Preference will be given to candidates who have a marketing background and can demonstrate good marketing skills.

This is a part-time post, working 3 days a week (21 hours) but flexibility with hours and days worked is essential, as the post holder will be required to attend and manage events planned outside of their normal working hours.
