August’s talk is: Harlem Renaissance (1920s and 30s)
Haarlem was a centre for a rebirth of art integrating African culture and involving all art forms, including photography music and dance. Also known as the ‘New Negro Movement’, it was political in inspiration taking on key civil rights issues.
